The company’s history dates back to 1994, when two separate businesses, “Modern”, from Ukraine, and “Duet”, from Poland, decided to join forces. In just one year the Ukrainian company starts its own production of commercial furniture. The main materials at that time were wood and glass.
In 1996 Petro Pylypiuk and Bogdan Lukasik, while continuing business cooperation, gave rise to the Modern-Expo brand. At that time in Lutsk the company manufactured glass constructions, chipboard products and tube-modular structures for retail.
In 2000 the company launched its first FinPower and Ideal Line machines which allowed enlarging the company’s assortment with solutions for food retail which is only just beginning to develop in Ukraine – racking systems and checkout counters.
Already in a year the company bought the unfinished building of the Soviet defense plant “Iskra” where the future production and the head office were situated.
Now Modern-Expo is expanding very quickly. Since 2002 laser cutting technologies have been used, new equipment has been developed at the plant. So, in the same year the Columbus system appears, in 2006 the company develops a new direction aimed at manufacturers of FMCG-products, and namely POP-equipment. In 2007 the company presented high racks system, the system Hudson was launched to the world market. In 2010 Modern-Expo starts to manufacture stainless steel products. The new products line traditionally got name “Bering”.
In 2012 the company’s assortment comprised of 6 product groups, such as metal shelving, checkout counters, stainless steel equipment, high racks, POS-equipments and wiring systems. In 2013 Modern-Expo started production of refrigeration equipment.
Years of foundation of the plants
2001 – Plant in Lutsk. In the year 2016 its production facilities occupy an area of more than 65 000 m².
2013 – The plant for manufacturing trade and refrigeration equipment was launched in Verkhniodniprovsk (Ukraine), 22 000 m².
2016 – Plant in Vitebsk (Belarus) was launched, 25 000 m².

2014 – Office in Vitebsk (Belarus)
2015 – Representative offices of Modern-Expo in Paris (France) and London (Great Britain) were opened
2017 – Joint venture Modern-Expo GmbH & Schweitzer.
